Kishore Rajaram Chhabria, Chairman of Allied Blenders and Distillers Pvt. Ltd., is one of the most successful and visionary entrepreneurs in the liquor industry. Mr. Chhabria, with over 25 years of experience in the industry, currently owns and controls ABD. Between 1987 and 1992, Mr. Chhabria worked with Shaw Wallace & Co. Ltd., where he transformed the company into a powerhouse in the spirit industry by increasing the market share for its existing brands and adding new brands to its portfolio. During this period, Mr. Chhabria also served as director or advisor in various major companies like Dunlop India Ltd., Mather & Platt Ltd., Hindustan Dorr Oliver Ltd., Gordon Woodroffe Ltd., etc.
Prior to joining Shaw Wallace, Mr. Chhabria lived and worked in Dubai and London. Since April 1992, Mr. Chhabria has been the Chairman of BDA Ltd., the liquor business of which company was de-merged into ABD during 2007. Between 1995 and 2005, Mr. Chhabria also served as Executive Vice Chairman of Herbertsons Ltd., a leading liquor company that has since been merged with United Spirits Limited.

Deepak is from a rare breed of Pro Entrepreneurs. He has had an impressive career spanning over 42 years in sales, marketing and general management of which 28 years have been spent in the general management.
A Veteran of the wine and spirits industry, Deepak Roy is currently the Executive Vice-Chairman & CEO of Allied Blenders & Distillers Pvt. Ltd. which is the third largest spirits company in India. Some of the most successful brands -Officer?s Choice, Bagpiper Whisky, McDowell?s No. 1 in the liquor industry bear his indelible stamp. Deepak?s illustrious career spanning over 42 years comprises of stints in leading Multi-National Companies like Glaxo, Ranbaxy, CPC, Warner Hindustan, The UB Group and Diageo plc.
In 1993 as the Founding CEO of Diageo?s India business (formerly „International Distillers India? prior to the merger that created Diageo), delivered profitable growth since its inception. In his last position held with Diageo, as President, South Asia, Russia & Baltics of Guinness UDV (a Diageo company), based in Mumbai, he managed a team that included 35 expats. He has a proven track record in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies that have built both mass and premium drinks business in India and other emerging markets. He is also the man behind the successful launch of the Smirnoff brand in India, and is known to have built other successful brands in India, China and Russia.
Deepak?s foray into entrepreneurship came about in 2002 when he led the management buy-out of Diageo?s Gilbey?s brand and unfolded them into Triumph Distillers & Vintners, a company which he promoted. Subsequently in 2005, he sold his business to the UB group creating in the process considerable value.
Later in 2007, Deepak co-promoted a wine company and launched premium wines under the brand name „Zampa?. Subsequently, he merged the company with Grover Wines and now the combined entity Grover Zampa is the second largest wine company in India. Deepak continues to be the promoter and director at Grover Zampa.
In October 2007, Mr. Kishore Chhabria, Chairman of Allied Blenders & Distillers Pvt. Ltd. (ABD) invited Deepak Roy to lead the company offering him 5% stake in the company. Deepak took over as the Executive Vice Chairman & CEO of the company, today, ABD is the largest domestic Spirits company and its brand “Officer?s Choice” is the world?s largest selling whisky and 16th most valuable spirits brand in the world.
Deepak Roy holds a Diploma in Management Science from the Japan-America Institute of Management Science, University of Hawaii, U.S.A. and has a Bachelor?s Degree in Economics (Hons.) from Delhi University. During his working career, Deepak has been sponsored to various development programmes including the „Advance Marketing Management Programme? in Harvard Business School, U.S.A. While in school and college, Deepak was a sportsman of National repute.
Mr. U.K. Ganguli
Mr. U. K. Ganguli, Vice Chairman of Allied Blenders and Distillers Pvt. Ltd., is a professionally qualified chartered accountant with more than 40 years of diverse professional experience. He has lived and worked in London, Jamaica, Malta and Nigeria besides India. While living abroad, Mr. Ganguli successfully worked as Managing Director / CEO for companies involved in different industries like Newspaper, Real Estate Development, FMCG products, Beer, etc., and created some very successful brands. Red Stripe beer, which was launched by Mr. Ganguli while in London, has since emerged as one of the largest selling packaged beer brands in UK.
After returning back to India in 1986, Mr. Ganguli worked as CEO of Calcutta Chemical Ltd., one of the most respected companies dealing in personal products. He next worked for Shaw Wallace up to 1992, a period during which he worked at different times as Head of their Consumer Product Division, Head of their Liquor Division and Head of their Beer division. After having served BDA (now ABD) since 1992 initially as Managing Director and thereafter as Vice Chairman, Mr.Ganguli continues to serve the company as Vice Chairman.
Paramjit Singh Gill

Paramjit Singh Gill is currently designated as the President and CEO of Allied Blenders & Distillers. An industry veteran, he has had a remarkable career spanning over 30 years in the FMCG and alcobev industry. At ABD, he is responsible to deliver profitable growth and strategic agenda with the senior leadership team directly reporting into him. He has an enviable track record in leadership and sales management roles in both the FMCG and spirits industry in India and abroad.
He has over 25 years of experience leading the alcobev major, United Spirits Ltd. where he served as a President of All India Operations. In 1996, he took on a senior leadership role at United National Breweries Ltd., South Africa where he played a significant role in turning the company around from a loss making operation into a sustainable business. In 2007, he returned as Regional Profit Centre Head of Northern India for United Spirits where he played a key role in strengthening the company operations. Prior to joining the alco-bev industry in 1992, He worked for nine years in Glaxo’s food division.
He holds a distinguished academic track record. He graduated with a B.Sc Physics from Christ Church College Kanpur in 1982. In 1999-2000 Paramjit became a Chartered Marketer from Institute of Marketing Management, South Africa. Whilst in South Africa, Paramjit also acquired an M. Phil in Knowledge Management and Values from the prestigious Stellenbosch University. He also holds a diploma in labour law. Later in 2011, Paramjit was nominated for the Fulbright- Nehru-CII Fellowship for Leadership in Management program at Carnegie Mellon University.
Mr. Ramakrishnan Ramaswamy
Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Ramakrishnan Ramaswamy is a Senior Finance Professional with more than 25 years of rich & diversified experience in the areas of Financial Planning Analysis and Controls, Treasury and Tax Optimisation, ERP system design, Mergers & Acquisition negotiations, across various companies.
He comes from Jubilant Energy, part of Jubilant Group, as the Chief Financial Officer based out of their corporate office in Noida, NCR since August 2007. He was responsible for the organisation’s finance function along with preparedness for an overseas listing and raising long term resources for the company.
Prior to Jubilant, Mr.Ramakrishnan was with EsselPropack Limited, based out Mumbai where he worked as Vice President-Finance (Global) & headed the finance function since 2004. He joined them in 1994 as Finance Manager. In his career journey, Ramakrishnan has also worked with JBF Industries and Hindustan Hardy Spicer Limited as Manager Finance and Deputy Chief Accountant respectively based out of Mumbai.
He is Chartered Accountant of 1987 batch and also holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Mumbai University in 1985.
Mr. Ajay B Baliga
Allied Blenders and Distillers Pvt. Ltd
Ajay is a seasoned supply chain and manufacturing professional with over 35 years’ experience in the alcobev industry. He is a BTech in Chemical Engineering from the University of Madras and started his career as an Engineering Trainee in Shaw Wallace & Co in 1981 where he had the unique distinction of being appointed as the youngest Vice President in Shaw Wallace hierarchy. His career journey has touched upon all facets of alcobev industry. He has held positions as Factory Engineer, Factory Manager, General Manager overseeing a region, Assistant Vice President / Vice President overseeing two regions. Whilst in Shaw Wallace, he also has a distinction of managing one of the breweries and was Director in several subsidiary company boards and also member of the Due Diligence and acquisitions team.
He joined ABD (then BDA) as Senior Vice President – Business Development and Manufacturing in 1997, held several important positions and led several initiatives. He was one of the key members of the team that developed strategic architecture for ABD in 2008. His footprint is extremely visible in framing of the company’s vision and values.
In November 2008, he left ABD to join United Spirits Ltd. (USL) as Executive Vice President – Manufacturing, Projects and Quality Control. During his tenure in USL, he streamlined and expanded the manufacturing footprint through a combination of capacity enhancement, acquisitions & third-party operations to create capability to produce more than 150 million cases per annum – cost effectiveness, improved service levels, efficiency & quality were the corner stones of this strategy.
Post-acquisition of USL by Diageo in 2013, he was responsible for transformation of USL’s manufacturing operations & technical functions to align with Diageo Global Supply standards and improve performance parameters to make USL Manufacturing World Class.
Under his watch, USL’s Technical Centre grew into a formidable bank of capabilities, knowledge, innovations and technical improvements in the alcobev space.
He was appointed as Global Supply Director – Mainstream Spirits for Diageo Plc during the last one year and he put together an end to end Supply strategy & solutions for Diageo’s global portfolio of mainstream spirits and initiated execution in a few markets.
Ajay is married to Alka and has one son, Akshay. Alka is a Microbiologist & Pathologist by education but a homemaker by preference. Akshay after completing his graduation from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, is presently consulting with Ernst & Young in Bangalore.
